Marco Polo II: Design Diary part 1

Welcome to the Mautoma Design Diary for Marco Polo II.

The first goal I set for this Automa was to maintain maximum continuity with respect to the Automa of the first chapter. Therefore I kept the same structure of the cards. Each card shows the secondary action at the top and a list of main actions in the middle. The secondary action, if present, is always performed before the main action. Why this choice? At the start of development, the secondary action was done after the main action, but during the playtest I realized that I often forgot to perform the secondary action. Furthermore, performing the secondary action before the main one always benefits the Automa. For example, receiving a black die at the beginning of the turn provides a greater probability of carrying out the main action of the first slot, which in general is the most performing for the Automa.
